Selnirra - Maiden of the Storm

Death, Storms, War

They say that the seas were created by two sisters. The older one, Selnirra, was a determined soul. She was the one to fill the seas with dangers to protect the seas and the beauty within it. She was the one to send the storms on the evildoers. She was the one to protect the seas and the oceans. She was a just soul. Until one fateful day she had to slay her own sister's husband to help fight off Oblivion. While she can never forgive her own betrayal, she keeps on fulfilling her duty, protecting the seas and the world even to this day…

  • Two types of animals are seen as connected to Selnirra: surface hunters that protect the ocean from invaders, like sharks; and deep hunters, that keep whatever that lives near the depths away from surface dwellers.

History

Home Plane

The previous Divine Realm of Selnirra, the Crystalline Sea in Elysium, is a sea with water so transparent it’s almost invisible. It is filled with all manner of beautiful sea life. But after her betrayal Selnirra left Elysium. Now her ship, The Storming Vessel, filled with her faithful, scours the Maelstrom, waging war against any outsider that attempts to breach its way into our world.

Appearance

In her humanoid form Selnirra has the appearance of a battle scarred mermaid graciously swimming through the air. Black long hair and vibrant green eyes. Clad in metallic armour that has seen many battles. And a silvery trident in hand, that looks constantly surrounded by waves.

Common Followers

Many seafarers pray to Selnirra so that she protects them from the storm, but only those that truly want to protect the seas and the coasts call themselves her faithful. Many pirates or similar criminals who decide to turn a new leaf and escape the life of crime pray to Selnirra for a chance to redeem themselves. Some members of aquatic races consider her their patron deity. Anyone who wishes for the calm sea travel would pray to one of the sisters, but not both, so as to not incur their wrath.
