Graund - Earth Master - CG
Earth, Harvest, Protection
Graund grew first as a small boulder, risen from the ground from the shaking earth and rumbles of war, a simple elemental of earth and stone, Graund heeded the call of his master, defeating those that threatened his master, crushing them into dust and returning his victims to the earth with which Graund was formed from, but something always nagged upon Graund, with every command he knew something was wrong, these people, they did not fight him, at least not until his master bid him to strike. He could not resist. Soon, his understanding grew, the people feared him, feared his size, feared his strength, but more so feared and reviled Graund for what he had done. No, what his master forced him to do. Graund struggled against his master's orders, until finally, that spark, that connection of magic that held him broke, he was released at last from his cage!
He struck down his master, and at first he was relieved to at last be free, but then he was horrified at what he had done, he fled, and wandered the lands for a years, centuries even, everywhere he went people feared him, striking at him with weapons, but Graund did not fight back, driven from place to place, he was never welcomed. Eventually Graund could not hold onto this any longer, he collapsed deep within a forested glade, forming that of a boulder that soon overgrew with moss and vines.
Millennia passed, as his form dwindled from the constant beating of the elements, his slumber ongoing his pain keeping him locked within his own mind, it wasn't until he heard the cries of pain from those within his glade that he stirred. The world had changed, Oblivion had come to his home, and these people that cried out were being hunted by beasts twisted. Though Graund knew that the people feared him, they attacked him, they beat him, they treated him like the dirt that he came from, and yet even still, he knew he must act. He roused from his slumber. He a towering body of stone stopped these cursed beasts and and saved these people, but they did not run. They did not scream, they did not beat Graund. They cheered, they laughed, some even hugged him, thanking Graund for saving them.
He did not know what to do. This was the first time he had known kindness. The first time he was not immediately met with hatred and pain, and so he simply followed them when they asked. He walked amongst these people, he built them mighty holdings of earth and stone, even nurturing the plants themselves, as it seemed his touch alone roused the plants waking within them a need to grow big, big as Graund, finally, he felt at ease, he was home.
As the years went on, Graund taught these people who he helped so long ago, those who roused him from his slumber, the ways of the earth. Sowing the seeds of their future, and as he did so, guiding them to new spots of land, moving from place to place, his size grew, and grew, with every step his earthen form took hold of yet more of the earth, and soon plants began to grow upon him, and their seeds left to the wind sprouted new crops for the people, but he never stopped growing, and soon he was too large for the people. With every step he took, that which he had built shattered, the people knocked from their feet at his size, he knew he had to leave. They begged him to stay, but he knew to do so would ultimately be the death of them. Though he had at last found a family, he could not stay. To protect his people he left them with but a seed, told them that as long as this seed had life he would always be with them, but to stay would endanger them further, and so he took to the earth, burying himself leaving the plane of existence as he ascended.
