Bhengulor
Bhengulor the city of ash and steel, was once a mighty citadel of the magma dwarves. It was an underground kingdom found beneath the Wyrmsmoke mountains where the magma pools glow red hot providing the flames for the great forges within. The citadel was the seat of power of dwarven-kind on Leshulti, their capitol of sorts, a home of great prestige and riches, that was the seat of power for the Karagrummaz (translated as King of the Magma Folk) of the dwarvish empire.
While the interior was strictly forbidden to outsiders, lest they steal the secrets within, the grand antechamber and the areas on the surface world outside the citadel gates were open to all. With trade flourishing between Bhengulor and the Kingdom of Calbesh, these two peoples held a strong alliance until the citadels fall.
History
Bhengulor was founded by Dwallen Steelheart ages ago during the first age of Kaidryn, long before the young races were formed. Dwallen lead his people from the earthen hills that they called home, through the vast Fields of Velynne southward, all the while under attack by bands of orcs and goblins. Through this long brutal march, he and his people passed towering pines and and great oaks which held a strange people tall and sylvan, these folk--the elves--saw the dwarves plight, but would not aid, pursued further the dwarves fled, with their numbers dwindling they came upon a mighty river, flowing with glittering gems and shining gold a beam of sunlight shined through, bathing the river in its glow which formed a halo of red and gold to shine over Dwallen. Taken as an auspicious sign, the river was named the Zanruvak, the 'Ruby River'.
Pressing on Dwallen and his party came to a fork in the river, with a great towering peak flanked by these streams, as the gleaming sun shone bright upon the surface of this mighty mountain, the blinding rays stopped their pursuers. Drawn to this titan the dwarves made their way to the mountain's base and formed the beginnings of their new city, carving into the mountain, securing their borders with great stone walls, and naming their new homeland Bhengulor--The First Peak--ensuring the stronghold would last for generations.
After a time, the orcs seemingly receeded drawn away by a new threat, with the forests being felled a new people walked the lands, pushing back at the elves and the orcs, this provided the dwarves a great respite from orc attacks, and a new friendship began to bloom between dwarves and man, and with that trade, exchanging their fine creations of metal and masonry for the vast quantities of food that this new race grew in abundance both people prospered.
