Observance/Celebrations

    • 25 Ogdoo
    • Large celebration in Pitmidden, celebrated all over.

Traditions

    • Carving of Jack-O-Lanterns
    • Wearing costumes to scare spirits
    • Honouring the dead through shrines, including sugar skulls & soul cakes
    • Tell stories of the dead
    • Light a fire and keep it going all night, occasionally of a wicker man
    • Hold a Dumb Supper
    • Leaving offerings for Thana, Persephone, Stingy Jack, and other beings of Death.

Description

Also known as "Mahain", "Day of Spirits", and "Shadow Night"
This is a celebration of the dead. Honouring those who have passed on and the various gods of death. It's a somber time but can also be very spiritually rewarding for people.
