- Large celebration in Pitmidden, celebrated all over.
Traditions
- Carving of Jack-O-Lanterns
- Wearing costumes to scare spirits
- Honouring the dead through shrines, including sugar skulls & soul cakes
- Tell stories of the dead
- Light a fire and keep it going all night, occasionally of a wicker man
- Hold a Dumb Supper
- Leaving offerings for Thana, Persephone, Stingy Jack, and other beings of Death.
Description
Also known as "Mahain", "Day of Spirits", and "Shadow Night"This is a celebration of the dead. Honouring those who have passed on and the various gods of death. It's a somber time but can also be very spiritually rewarding for people.
