Corvus

The tribe Corvus is a collection of bird-like humanoids that resemble various corvids. Whilst they are weaker in statue, they make up for it in a sharp mind. Some are able to remember large amounts of information, others are able to decern the properties of various items, and some can make unique tools out of little items. Part of this intelligence is a strange obsession with shiny trinkets and knick-knacks. Often said to be the chosen children of The Magpie.

Ancestries and Lineages of Tribe Corvus

Corvum (Ancestry)

The Corvum are the eldest of the Corvus. Defined by a short stature with short gliding wings that reach to their hands. They have long beaks and clawed feet and hands.

Kin

Skumring or Dusk Corvum

• Darker feathers, often resembling choughs,
• Found in settlements in Makaria.

Skov or Kindled Corvum

• Variety of feathers, often resembling ravens, rooks, crows, and magpies.
• Native to the forests of Makaria

Ren or Standard Corvum

• A wide variety of patterns and feathers, often resembling jackclaws and jays.
• Native to Makaria.

Kenku (Ancestry)

Kenku are flightless Corvus. Brought forward by an ancient affliction on their ancestors. This came after a community of Corvus stole a shinny artifact of the Shadowfel. They were cursed in retaliation. They resemble their Corvum cousins without the wings.

Forbandet or Cursed Kenku (Lineage)

The original line of Kenku who were cursed. They cannot even speak their own language and are left to mimic the cries of others to communicate. Finally, their creativity is forever stunted.

• Rarely found outside the Shadowfel.

Udviklet or Evolved Kenku (Lineage)

Udviklet have evolved to work with their curse. Able to communicate normally, but ALSO mimic. Though they may not be able to fly, they've evolved and learned to make the best of their state. They were only able to evolve and separate from other Kenku after returning to the Material Plane.
