Nether

The Nether is the domain of negative energy. Existing beneath the Material Plane and the Isocrystal Layer, the Nether houses the Nether Gods. Philosophers have long theorized that gravity functions differently in the Nether, but there is debate as to the specifics. Since no one has entered and returned from the Nether before, there is no way to be sure.

Denizens of the Nether

One thing is known about the Nether; it houses an array of Devils and Demons. When the Nether Gods want to directly oversee their followers, they send Devils and Demons. The mechanism by which these creatures leave the Nether is, unfortunately, unknown.

Connection to the Underdark

When the Nether Gods escaped from the Nether, the force of their impact against the Isocrystal Layer left a web of cracks, crevices, and imperfections in the layer. Negative energies seeping through these small holes made the deepest tunnels more dangerous--the Underdark. The densest network of tunnels is in the Agon Desert, near the Great Scar of Urbos, another source of negative energies.

Geography

The geography of the Nether is completely unknown. It is, however, assumed to be very hostile. Negative energy is the force of destruction. An entire plane filled with negative energy must therefore be destructive.
