7.Syann The Mage Wars Era (MA)

01-1500 MW: The lost people of fallen empires rebuild themselves as the nations we will come to know. Kingdoms rise from ruins and it is an age of Iron and Steel. It is also an age of arcane might. For humans have started to master high magic and the art of wizardry. Warlords arise in the broken remains of the old empires, warlords who rule not with blade but mastery of the schools of arcane magic. Many are the powerful human mages who innovate, create and rediscover the wonders of magic like never before seen and wage wars like never before seen. The end of this age is punctuated by the apocalypse known as the Lands-Shatter. An event caused by a mage warlord that shatters the Terrigoth and its landbridge to Lumia and Lumias connection to Athila. The ripples cause magical chaos and destruction felt around the world. In the aftermath of witch hunts and nightmarish destruction across the globe the high guilds are formed and it is decided that magic of that power must be controlled for the sake of those who love the art and understand its danger in the hands of lunatics.   -Mage war Era: Some claim it was the dwarves others the elves who taught humanity how to once more wield the power of high magic. Though no historian is sure what is known is that it sparked an era of great conflict and war in the Teragoth. An era where wizard warlords conquered kingdoms, feuded and delved into strange and powerful magic. An age of reckless magic and powerful personalities each battling for supremacy. For five centuries war raged across the Teragoth and arcane warlords ruled feudal magocracies. The age ended when a powerful elementalist wizard named Alanor Dorath attempted to hold several rival nations for ransom. The response was denial and an attack upon his stronghold. An attack that caused him to cast his spell of legend. “The Land Shatter” Through the Teragoth the land shook and cracked, great massive tremors tore the land asunder. Magical energies tore at the earth and land was transmuted to air, water and fire. Overnight the continent of Teragoth was torn in half and the region that would be called the broken isles was born. Here the beasts blood bubbled to the surface from her wounds creating pools of water that glowed with an otherworldly aura, this Aura Water, pure chaotic magical energy that warped any who touched it would scar the broken islands along with the countless remains of the terrible magic of the mage warlords whose kingdoms now lay in ruins. This however did bring together a number of powerful Wizards, lead by Starisia WhiteTower they held council and it was decided upon that such reckless and foolhardy abuse of the power of magic could not be permitted again, from this was created the High Guild and the place where they held council the very center of the Broken Isles, the land once known as Degara became the nation where this first council would build the great floating tower where the High Guild would rule from.
