5.Syann The Age of Endless Winters

-Thinking the gods had punished them or perhaps spiteful fiends for closing the mirrors the races of the world are forced into retreat as massive glaciers and a winter without end covers the world. Dinosaurs and beasts unable to handle the cold are forced to distant southern lands. Magically adept races shelter in hidden enclaves, folk of the underground find the entrances to the surface sealed and thus dig into the shelter of the stone. Others endure 10000 years of cold, darkness and brutality. Little is known of the history of this period, most written works are lost and tales of the time degraded to myth and hyperbole. It is not until the great ice recedes that the races of the world once more start to rebuild and recover.   Age of Ice Ten Thousand years of winter gripped Syann, in that dark cold age brutality and hardship ruled, Man, Orc and giant kind thrived in this age. Among the race of man the humans came to be the most abundant as their kin were forced to the edges of the frozen world. In an age of savagery, hardship and barbarism humanity earned its place and spread far and wide across Syann. When the ice receded and the old races could finally begin to rebuild they found the world a changed place. The land itself had changed as glaciers had cut new valleys and rivers and the once savage race of man now stood tall ready to take the reigns of destiny into his hands.
