Special Containment Procedures:
All instances of SCP-x258 are to be stored in individual, reinforced containment lockers at Site-██. Handling of SCP-x258 instances requires Level 3 clearance and approval from the Site Director. Description:
SCP-x258 refers to a series of anomalous humanoid masks with distinct psychological and behavioral effects on those who wear them. All SCP-x258 instances are made of an unknown yet durable polymer material and cannot be damaged by conventional means. When worn, SCP-x258 instances adhere to the wearer’s face and cannot be removed without causing severe trauma or death.
Instances of SCP-x258 are categorized into three subtypes based on their facial design and anomalous effects:
▣ SCP-x258-1 (Smiling Masks): SCP-x258-1 instances feature a permanent smile and cause wearers to enter an advanced state of euphoric aggression. Subjects become highly skilled in combat and display heightened physical endurance. However, they lose all sense of self-preservation, recklessly attacking any non-wearers in their vicinity. Wearers of SCP-x258-1 appear to communicate telepathically with one another, coordinating their actions without verbal communication.
▣ SCP-x258-2 (Angry Masks): SCP-x258-2 instances depict an enraged facial expression and cause wearers to enter a frenzied state. Wearers of SCP-x258-2 demonstrate extreme physical strength and resilience, though at the cost of fine motor control and strategic thinking. Unlike SCP-x258-1, SCP-x258-2 wearers are prone to infighting and lack coordination. Prolonged exposure to SCP-x258-2 results in severe physical deterioration, with wearers succumbing to organ failure within 72 hours.
▣ SCP-x258-3 (FacelessMasks): SCP-x258-3 is a single instance with no visible facial features. Unlike other subtypes, SCP-x258-3 does not cause direct psychological influence but appears to grant the wearer immunity to the effects of SCP-x258-1 and SCP-x258-2. SCP-x258-3 is believed to act as a "command mask," capable of exerting control over wearers of other SCP-x258 instances. This control is described as absolute, with wearers of SCP-x258-1 and SCP-x258-2 obeying the commands of SCP-x258-3 without question.
The only known SCP-x258-3 instance is currently in the possession of GoI-004 (The Knights Templar), who are believed to utilize SCP-x258 in rituals or combat operations.
