Level 0 | The Yellowrooms

Special Containment Procedures:

SCP-x002-0, designated Level 0 is a subregion of SCP-x002. Stable entry points to Level 0 are maintained at designated Foundation containment sites, with access restricted to personnel holding Level 3 clearance or higher. Random entry points into Level 0 continue to manifest globally and are considered high-priority for immediate containment or neutralization by Mobile Task Forces specializing in spatial anomalies.   Exploration teams entering SCP-x002-0 are required to wear GPS-enabled tracking devices and carry standard survival equipment. No personnel are to remain within Level 0 for longer than 72 hours without explicit approval from Site Command. Any objects or entities recovered from Level 0 must undergo rigorous decontamination and analysis.

Description:

SCP-x002-0 is a subregion of SCP-x002, colloquially referred to as the "The Lobby" or "The Yellowrooms." This area manifests as an apparently infinite network of yellow-tinted rooms and hallways, distinguished by the following features:   ▣ Walls covered with a yellow, patterned wallpaper, often stained and peeling.   ▣ A continuous buzzing noise emanating from overhead fluorescent lights, which appear functional but emit no measurable heat.   ▣ A damp, musty smell permeating the air.   ▣ Carpeting that retains moisture and exhibits abnormal resistance to drying.   SCP-x002-0 exhibits spatially anomalous properties, characterized by endless corridors and rooms that loop or change layout unpredictably. Attempts to map Level 0 have revealed inconsistent geometry, with recorded layouts altering between exploration missions. These shifts appear random but are theorized to follow an unknown pattern. Notably, no two rooms have been documented as identical, though many feature slight variations, resulting in a disorienting and uncanny effects.   The fluorescent lights emit a noticeably louder and more intrusive hum compared to standard fixtures. Attempts to remove light fixtures have revealed no external wiring or discernible energy source. The moisture saturating the carpet varies throughout Level 0, with the only conclusive results of testing being that it is unsafe for human consumption.

Known Hazards and Entities:

▣ Physical Separation: Encountering other beings in SCP-x002-0 is impossible. Should Floor 0 be entered with a group, an imperceptable shift will separate said group individually until exiting the level. Presumably, hundreds, if not thousands, of people have died wihin SCP-x002-0 however, no corpses have ever been recorded.   ▣ Psychological Disorientation: Prolonged exposure to SCP-x002-0 induces heightened anxiety, paranoia, and hallucinations in affected individuals. Symptoms escalate with duration of exposure.   ▣ Spatial Distortion: Sections of SCP-x002-0 occasionally exhibit shifting walls, doorways, and layouts. These mimicry events can trap or confuse individuals, contributing to the difficulty of navigation.

Exploration and Research:

Efforts to understand SCP-x002-0’s anomalous properties are ongoing. Foundation scientists are currently focused on:   ▣ Identifying potential rules governing spatial shifts within SCP-x002-0.   ▣ Developing advanced mapping techniques to aid in navigation.   ▣ Investigating connections between SCP-x002-0 and other subregions of SCP-x002.

Addendum x002-0-A:

Incident Report x002-0-04: During an exploration mission, an unmanned drone deployed in SCP-x002-0 encountered an apparent "exit," leading to a different subregion of SCP-x002. This area displayed stark environmental differences, including arid conditions and the absence of yellow-tinted decor. Analysis of this transition point is ongoing.

Addendum x002-0-B:

Due to the hazards posed by SCP-x002-0, all personnel assigned to exploration missions must undergo psychological evaluation before and after deployment. Recovered individuals displaying severe mental distress are to be treated at Site-x002’s medical facilities.         Author(s):
