General Game Play

...You sit down at a round, wooden table with a band of your nerdy friends. Some are dressed in their best (and only) chain mail and the others have poorly painted their faces so it looks that they were barfed upon by the rainbow goo monster you fought during the introductory session. Weather you are a sword swinging veteran or were just given your first practice bow, you can certainly tackle Swola game play by reading just one fun article...   The game is run by the TT (Tale Tamer, not the Table Top). TO play the TTRPG version, you will need at least three PCs. NPCs are played by the TT and there can be as few or as many as the TT decides. The TT leads characters through a story which causes them to have to think and act as their character as well as act on their toes!   When the TT asks a player to role for Common Acts, the equation is Race+Class=Common Act. The common act die is the d20 + your common act. For example the little Goblin Gardener/farmer has Deception-- +4 + Deception-- -4 = 0. This little farmer is a mediocre liar. So, you would role a [1d20+0].   The TT interprets the role, 20 being a perfect score to 1 being the worst. If a natural 20 or 1 is roled, no modifyers are added to it and it is kept perfect or horrible. It is the concept of very good luck and very bad luck. A really strong character might role a natural 1 on a strength check, making even common acts unpredictable.
