SkyBridge
Rearing up into the sky from the land like a rainbow of solid rock, a SkyBridge forms a giant arch across the land. The apex of the arch supports a SkyLand. The two together resemble a portion of jeweled ring that has been submerged into the earth where the bridge is the band and the land is the jewel.
The surface of a SkyBridge is covered with earth, plants, and animals similar to the land surrounding it. It may be covered with farmland or elaborate landscaping with stone walls bordering the edges, it may be a wild land home to plants & animals, or it may be something between those two extremes.
Dimensions
A SkyBridge is typically 400-500 feet/120-150 meters wide from edge to edge. It is flat on the top portion and the cross-section is in the shape of the letter "D". The thickness of a bridge is 250-300 feet/75-90 meters. The length of a bridge are typically 1-2.5 miles/1.6-4 kilometers long. The arc flattens out across the top as it approaches the SkyLand. The height of a SkyBridge ranges 1000-2000 feet/300-600 meters from the land below.Gravitational Anomalies
Gravity is altered for someone standing on a SkyBridge. No matter where they are standing, they feel as if they are being pulled straight onto the bridge rather than downward toward the ground. This quirk of gravity enables easy travel and prevents erosion. If a creature walks off one of the edges, however, it will fall to the earth below. Likewise, if a creature were to attempt to climb up the under side of the bridge, they would be climbing against the pull from the ground below.Magic
Flowing within a SkyBridge is a constant stream of magical energy. Scholars propose that the stone of the bridge actually does continue through the earth shaping an oblong ring with magic flowing along in a perpetual motion. They refer to these magical energies as Ley Loops.
