Depavatan Warsail

"Never will you see such a beauty as the Depavatan marine vessels. To call these ships is an insult to the art and engineering that went into these creations! They are unrivalled in power, no one will ever be able to take them down in fair battle and everyone knows that those Axarsú ships just use cheap tricks to beat us!"
— Captain in the Depavatan Navy

The Depavatan Warsail is the latest star of the Depavatan navy. It is the largest ship every built in the south and have the biggest amount of cannons and other weapons in the fleet. In total around twenty of these ships were built, and today five are still active in the navy.

Appearance

The Warsail is a long and slim ship to be able to handle the harsh waves of the open ocean. It has three masts with circular sails, one big on the mast in the middle, and two smaller on each of the aft and fore masts.

Propulsion

The ship is powered by the big and many sails, adapted to be able to catch the wind no matter what as well as being able to adjust speed and direction with detail.   There is also a rowing deck with space for rowers on both sides along the whole ship in case of absolutely no wind, or getting in and out of harbour.

Weapons & Armament

A lot of huge cannons made to fire not only cannonballs, but hooks to board other ships, shrapnel, nets and containers of burning fuel. The first time these ships were used in battle the enemy fled as soon as the wide variety of weapons were discovered as very few ships at the time were prepared to deal with this.

Armor and defense

The masts and bow is reinforced with metal at particularly sensitive points, such as joints and vents.
