Tacky Sweat
This stuff is a byproduct of a particular type of Enhanced ability. It's kind of fascinating.
A/N: She means disgusting. It's so, so gross.
It's technically classified as type of biological adhesive. It's great.
If you've ever seen someone climbing up a building using nothing but their fingertips, that's not what I'm talking about. Those people usually have some kind of very tiny fibers in their skin that allow them to stick on to things better. I'm also not talking about people with acid spit. And I'm not talking about the people who can produce webs like spiders or caterpillars. That's different.
No, this is specifically a byproduct. It usually comes from people with fire powers, and usually when they get sick somehow. It usually happens when they have a fever of some kind. This can be hard to tell on these sorts of people, but it does happen.
It's not really sweat, but since it's coming out of their pores that seems like the best name for it. They use their abilities and then whatever was going on in their system that allows it to go smoothly just doesn't process well, and this black tarry substance comes out of wherever the fire was produced. Usually this is their fingertips, although the ones who essentially set their whole bodies on fire can be kind of in a pickle.
It's not a flammable substance, which is why we don't call it tar. It's very black, and very sticky. It can be considered very valuable in that it doesn't adhere to human skin, but it will stick to just about anyone else.
Once it hardens, it can be difficult to remove, understandably. There are a very few solvents that are capable of removing it, and most of those damage what it's stuck to. Once dried it becomes much less sticky, more of a rubbery substance. It's not bouncy at all.
Tacky sweat has a very high melting point, which makes some people suspect that it has metallic compounds in it.
