Every superhero has to make a start somewhere, and while most of them make their start as adults, there are an increasing number of young people who have the desire to step out and start early. While most of them are denied this, there are a few placed in rather unique positions that mean that the adults tend to want to train them up early, usually to avoid them going off the rails.   A/n: There are a few different reasons why this happens. Kids whose parents are prominent superheroes usually end up as members if they show any kind of interest in following mom or dad's footsteps. There's also cases of childhood trauma where it's deemed that they need an outlet. And sometimes it's just because they're getting too powerful too quickly and people think they need oversight.   There is a slight fatality rate, but it's lower than any of the other entry points for this particular kind of career. Starting off with training and supervision by a more experienced superhero is apparently a pretty good idea.   Around half of the teens go on to become a full-fledged superhero of some sort, and they usually end up leading groups. Most of them ended up in highly competitive fields and do pretty well at it. Hard to tell if that's just the kind of teens that this "club" would attract, or if it helps shape them into these people. Probably a bit of both.   There's a focus on academics and learning about one's powers on top of the usual martial arts training. The idea is to get them all to learn to work together and to integrate them into what is becoming a pretty significant community that stretches across the globe.   You don't have to be a troublemaker to join up, but if you don't have at least a few jolts on your record then someone will add them in. There needs to be a reason that you're considered for "academics club", after all, and the external reason for the club is to provide an outlet for slightly troubled youths who are deemed to have potential.
