Seamus was born into an Irish American family in a suburb of Boston. As a teenager he became fascinated by Bataireacht a form of stick fighting martial arts from Ireland. As an adult he was attending school when the Rikti attacked the college. He was trying to escape a burning building when a lady dressed all in green came to him. She handed him a Shillelagh and told him "Now be a hero!" She then vanished. With the magical club in hand he then laid into the attacking Rikti and help drive them off.

He has taken to the role well. Some say too well. He talks with an Irish brogue so thick that even Irish people have difficulty understanding him. And he is nicknamed The Jolly Green Giant for wearing so much green!

Still no one doubts his dedication and courage. Although they really worry about his fashion sense.
