Starleech

Kasayya Raolaughar (a.k.a. Starleech)

Starleech is a janitor, which is nominally the sort of position where you don't see much action at all. Starleech, though? She had the severe misfortune of being a janitor with her buddy Gorehawk on the Titan VII station when it was breached by a strange, malevolent form of alien life; the two barely managed to squeak away with their lives, and more important people certainly didn't.

Since then, Starleech was reassigned -- along with Gorehawk -- to a small nowhere station on a small nowhere planet, and the two of them are ostensibly there doing janatorial work. It's just that... well, that's not really the case, and everyone kinda knows it. In actuality, Starleech is there because she, along with her buddy, knows too much.

They're watching the experiments for a reason, after all!

You think a lot about the repercussions of whistleblowing when your janitorial work takes you right next to a woman who has been picked apart with her organs supported in the air. It's something about the beating heart, the wide eyes, the nanites darkening her sclera.

Just...

... makes you reconsider your priorities.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Starleech isn't particularly physically impressive. It's a wonder she made it through training. She's got a slim body, is kind of scrawny, and is missing one of her tail blades after an incident involving a rapidly closing door. Despite all of that, she has a confidence in the way she holds herself, like she's proud of her janitorial work.

Mental characteristics

Employment

Starleech has worked as a janitor for several years, now, and it's a position that she has found pleasure in. It's a simple job, and she keeps her head down and nobody bothers her! Win win, right?

Mental Trauma

Starleech's brain technically contains a cognitohazard, which is another part of the reason she has her job. Furthermore, the Titan VII incident has left her horribly skittish in tight spaces, much to the chagrin of the other janitors who have to clean nooks and crannies she won't go into.

In all seriousness, though -- Starleech's got a brain that's been scrambled a time or two, and when you're looking at her, you can kind of tell. She smiles with all of her teeth most of the time, you know? On Titan VII, Starleech watched a grown man be pulled through a pipe small enough that it sheared off his limbs, squelched him tight like pulped fruit. Doesn't matter what you've been through, before. That sort of thing sticks with you. Sticks with her.

Social

Contacts & Relations

Starleech's best friend is the human woman known as Gorehawk. The two met during basic training, and helped eachother survive the literally pass-or-die courses.

Wealth & Financial state

Starleech makes enough money to keep herself fed on Hemlock Station, but not really enough money to sponsor a shuttle off-Station, which is just the way that the Shieldbearer in charge of Hemlock Station wants it.
