Fang of the Spider Mother

The Fang of the Spider Mother is a legendary divine artifact of the city of Styx.
It features prominently in much of the iconography of the Church of Serkatha and the Temple Parliament and can, for example, be seen on the crest-like badges of the Martial Saints of Everyn's Order.
It is most often depicted as a dagger or gladius of the sort most often used in rituals with spider-leg like appendages spreading from the hilt below and to above the blade. In legend those very appendages are said to grasp the wielder's hand drawing blood which represents the Goddess Serkatha uncovering the depths of their soul weighing their value in the cosmic scheme of things which matter to the Divines.

The Fang's last wielder was the God Empress of the Empire of Styx prior to her execution at the hands of the revolutionaries of the Great Revolution.

It is said that her last act before being captured by republican forces was stabbing the dagger into thin air upon which the Abyssal Whyrl of Umbrae appeared at the center of Lake Aphon.

The people of Styx whisper that the dagger is kept in a secret archive, either below the Grand Temple of Templesmeet or the Capitol in Parliamentaria but no official statement even so confirming its mere existence has been made by the Temple Parliament.
