War Spider

War Spiders are aren't a species but a classification of a collection of species of spiders which range in size from large enough for an adult Sumraki-Ashaī to ride into battle on to the size of small houses.

Once upon a time war spiders were the prized mounts of the nobility of the Empire of Styx, now smaller war spiders are used within the Armed Forces of the Stygian Republic as mounts for cavalrywomen while larger ones are used in artillery regiments, either to pull heavy artillery weapons or to be ridden into battle with gun stations mounted on platforms on their back.

War Spiders in the Armed Forces are usually controlled by Vermin-minders who offer their life in service.
