Within the Wheel of Seasons of the Eldest Faith a Heralding Sein refers to the Firstborn of the Greatwood "ruling" a given season.

Usually the Herald of a season is a Firstborn of the Greatwood who embodies something that has a position of importance or prominence within the ecology of a season.
