Nestinghare

The nestinghare, also known as the "cwnning" (plural is "cwnningen"), is a rabbit-like animal species that lays eggs. Although it is a prey to many larger animals, the nestinghare is widely dispersed and populous around Pamona and Svetli. Nestinghares' eggs are rich in nutrients and are large relative to the size of its body, which is usually short, round, and cute-looking. Nestinghares are sometimes snagged and hunted by humans and the like, and eaten in stews. Foraging for nestinghare eggs is a common hobby for children and a livelihood for some halflings and gnomes.
