Hippogriff

Hippogriffs are horse-like creatures with eagle wings, eagle-like talon-hooves on their front feet, and eagle-like beaks on their mouth.  They have eagle-like vision and hunting instincts and patterns as well, much different from horses.  Hippogriffs are found primarily in the plains of the Kersholms east of the Southern Whitgalds, and can also be found occasionally in the Dryhrug of Ghadjo Hwell.  Many are known to travel between the two.  Despite their prey being goats and sheep, they tend to stay away from Sogn Hwell, keeping primarily to more arid places.  Hippogriffs occasionally prey on horses, but horses' primary predator in the region remains to be griffons, which sometimes prey on hippogriffs.  Hippogriffs are a distinct species from griffons, horses, and pegasuses and cannot interbreed.  Their wings resemble griffons in that both are eagle-like, versus pegasus wings which are white, dense, silky, and described as "angel-like."
