Shorok
Shorok are a unique race birthed from the deepest lakes and rivers of the world, where light dares not touch. These bipedal crustaceans haven't had a place to call home since before the Exodus, and carry reputations of being cold, unfeeling brutes. The truth is, shorok are a kind, gentle people who just want to return to their ancient homeland, same as most people of Sturth. Some key features of the shorok are presented below:
- Shorok are immune to aging, and possess a limitless natural lifespan, simply growing larger as they age. However, the vast majority of shorok die young from predation, leaving only those who are careful and patient to grow into the shorok known by other races.
- Though odd in form, shorok are as capable as any race when it comes to spellcasting or combat, using their powerful pincers and experienced minds to great effect. However, shorok are loathe to take a life, doing so only out of necessity.
- Shorok are extremely varied in appearance, ranging in color from bright red or blue to dull black and gray. Additionally, shorok lack a defined gender, and tend to swap between whichever feels right that day.
- Though not given a name at birth, shorok can earn one through great deeds. Until this occurs, they are often known by a simple nickname in common, usually related to some physical or personality quirk.
Motivation
Shorok have every right to a place in this world as any other race, and many believe they can find their ancient homeland one day. However, shorok can have wide ranging motivations just like any other species, from simple pleasures to the allure of treasure or power. Regardless, shorok have a tendency to want to prove themselves and earn a name.Playing a Shorok
