Lizardfolk
Lizardfolk are far more integrated into society than in most D&D worlds. Millennia at sea cohabitating with other races has stripped away much of the harsher aspects of lizardfolk society, such as abject cannibalism. Specific differences are listed below:
- Lizardfolk are not a tribal folk in Sturth. They exist as another member of a huge melting pot of races and cultures, no more strange than a gnome or an elf.
- Though they no longer practice cannibalism, lizardfolk retain a love of meat. It is a common sight to see clans of lizardfolk haggling for huge quantities of fish in the open air markets of Respite.
- Before the Exodus, the lizardfolk were a nomadic people, following herds through the cycles and cannibalizing the weak when times were tough. They consider all of Nestfaolo to be their home.
Motivation
Though some find the lizardfolk to be inscrutable, their motivations are much the same as anyone else -- family, glory, treasure, and so on -- with the added qualification that most lizardfolk would die for their clan. Additionally, lizardfolk are not quite as driven as some other races, like dwarves and shorok, to reclaim a "homeland," since they are largely nomadic.Playing a Lizardfolk
Lizardfolk are functionally identical to those found in D&D Beyond. Lizardfolk have no subraces.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
