Kobold

Small in size but large in personality, the kobolds of Sturth are largely similar to kobolds in other D&D settings, except for a few key differences:
  • In Sturth, kobolds deify dragons, revering them as the only true gods. This stems from their belief that long ago, a brave dragonborn realized the truth of the world -- that dragons are actually gods -- and began to worship them properly. The rest of the dragonborn shamed this blasphemer endlessly, stripping away her strength, her breath, and her very soul. Kobolds believe that what remained of that dragonborn became the first kobold.
  • To this day, kobolds harbor resentment toward dragonborn, and will seek out opportunities to inconvenience them at every turn.
  • Kobolds and gnomes have no ill will towards one another in Sturth.

Motivations

Every kobold dreams of one day coming face-to-face with a true dragon, a literal god in their eyes. Such a feat would be the envy of other kobolds for generations. However, not all kobolds have such grand plans in mind: many take pleasure in the simple things, like successfully establishing a new colony; then again, others are filled with adventurous zeal, and strike out into the world in order to discover its arcane secrets and ancient history.

Playing a Kobold

Kobold are functionally identical to those found in D&D Beyond.   Kobold have no subraces.
