Kemono

A unique race of Sturth, the humanoid kemono all exhibit certain traits derived from their close connection to nature. They bear the ears and tails of their unique natural connection, and are more in tune with their surroundings than most. Key features of the kemono are detailed below:
  • Kemono originated in the wooded realms of Nestfaolo, and retain the features of different creatures of the woods. Some bear the ears and tails of rabbits, others canines, and still others bears. Strangely, which traits a kemono exhibits seems to be unrelated to their parentage.
  • After millennia on the ocean, kemono have longed to return to the forests of their home, much like their firbolg cousins. An unexpected reunion between kemono and tabaxi when Respite was founded has led to a great diffusion of the two cultures. Now it is common to find tabaxi living among kemono and vice versa, though the two races seem incapable of interbreeding.
  • Lacking a strong written tradition, kemono legend is their only source of history. As such, many young kemono find themselves fascinated with the ancient land of Nestfaolo.

Motivations

Kemono share many of the common motivations for striking out into the world, from gold to truth to power. Regardless of short-term goals, however, all kemono strive to wander once again through the forests and glades of their ancestors.
