Ridgepeak

Ridgepeak is a city nestled deep within the hills where the trees and rivers converge. To reach the city, one must make a perilous trek through the forested hills. Upon arrival, visitors will be greeted by the city's most prominent feature - a large river flowing through the heart of the city. At the entrance stands a magnificent statue of a Leonin, Ridgepeak's greatest champion. The Leonin was not only a skilled warrior but also a talented sculptor, creating some of the most beautiful artworks in the land. The statue is now almost entirely encased by vines, as are many of the buildings in the city.   Ridgepeak strives to highlight the beauty of nature, with many of the buildings incorporating trees and plants into their design. However, once the sun sets, the city is plunged into almost complete darkness. The trees block out most of the moonlight, and it is said that the shadows of the dead block out the rest. Citizens report seeing glowing eyes in the distance and hearing strange noises. Many who venture out of their homes at night go missing, and missing persons posters can be found around the city.   One of Ridgepeak's most significant features is its connection to the afterlife. The city has a large hall made from a half-dead tree that has been hollowed out and dedicated to Dyios, where the urns of the dead are stored. Behind the shrine to Dyios is a shrine devoted to Asami, made from the living side of the tree. The Asami shrine is a large theater and open space where artists can work on their pieces. The theater is where people gather for plays and for artists to showcase their work. Many of the artworks depict Asami  or show the kind acts she has done for the citizens of Ridgepeak. Being accepted into the great hall of Asami is considered a great honor, and the artists who are selected are believed to be blessed by Asami herself.   Ridgepeak is known as the city of the arts, with many legends and stories originating from the town. The connection between the living and the dead is quite strong, with numerous sightings reported of those who have passed on. The city has one of the largest cemeteries, and it is said that Dyios  himself created a portal for him to travel between the underworld and overworld. One of the most famous legends is the story of the love between a high elf named Valrona and a Leonin named Idorin. After Idorin fell ill, Valrona made a pact with a demon named Solgruul to save him. Asami intervened and saved the lovers but banished them to the sea, where they could never return to Straxterra. The legend inspired a surge in art, and theaters and museums were built to showcase the pieces. Most often, the artworks depict Asami as the hero of the story or showcase her glory
