Corn Screamer Species in Strathnora | World Anvil

Corn Screamer

A small rodent, much like a hamster, that wanders the fields of many farms across the world.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Appearing as small hamster-like rodents, Corn Screamers have rotund bodies, short legs and stubby tails. They are able to open their mouths extremely wide in order to 'scream'.

Genetics and Reproduction

Corn Screamers, like most rodents, reproduce extremely fast.

Ecology and Habitats

They live in small burrows under the ground, and come out at night to eat crops and attempt to find mates. They are specifically named Corn Screamers because they are particularly fond of making nests out of corn leaves.

Behaviour

The 'Screamer' part of their name comes from their mating call, which sounds much like a young woman screaming in terror.
