Exercises in Story | World Anvil

Exercises

Exercises:   Prompts -   The goal of prompt writing in the Enclave is to inspire fun and creativity, but to also assist writers in developing a portfolio of ideas to draw from whenever they need.   Prompts are casual and should be flash fiction (1 - 1,200 words) or short-short stories (1,200 - 2,500 words) wherever applicable. Should members find themselves writing longer pieces, however, then all the better!   Challenges -   Challenges are made available for those craving longer pieces, but whom find it easier to do so under the constraint of a deadline. Currently, the Enclave offers monthly and quarterly challenges.   Monthly Challenges will typically fall into the category of short story (over 2,500 and up to 7,500 words), except for the 30-for-30 challenge, which is thirty days of daily prompts and constrained to no more than 2,500 words.   Quarterly challenges are offered for works of writing which surpass the limits of short story and range from novelette (7,500 to 20,000 words) and as high as novel (50,000 words or higher). Bear in mind that the Enclave will run a quarterly challenge, the last one (October - December) being geared towards NanoWrimo.
