Goldthorns
The Goldthorn clan is clan of hill dwarves that reside in the Giant's Run Mountains. Ruled by King Bergrim Goldthorn, the clan is known for being both fierce warriors and shrew traders. Less gruff than many of their dwarven cousins, the Goldthorns are generally friendly with the races they rely on as trade partners. They have even been known to open their great halls to refugees during environmental disasters and foreign wars.
Occasionally challenged by goblins, orcs, and the occasional giant, the clan maintains a sizable military arm to protect its stronghold. A secondary branch of the military patrols the Dragon Coast protecting trade routes to and from the mountains. The Goldthorns suffered a major setback in 1389 when the entire regiment under the leadership of Vindar Stonehammer was lost in a battle with pirates near the city of Teziir.
