Basic Information
Anatomy
This reptilian race, well-suited for the treacherous swamps of their homeland, has developed natural immunities to diseases and poisons. Zargonians are a hardy race with scaled skin, sharp claws, horns and raspy voices. Their scales can appear in a variety of hues, including green, brown, black, red, blue and white. They are known for their resilience, which is embodied by their resistance to disease. In addition to this resistance, they possess the ability to breathe underwater and a penchant for stealth. Large bodies of water are no obstacle for an Zargonian.

This also means that while twins are not impossible, they are very rare, and they will always be dizygotic. Newborn hatchlings will require some mother's milk.

Dietary Needs and Habits
Zargonians tend to enjoy tea brewed from the Black Thistle, a plant native to their ancestral homeworld. The plant is highly poisonous to any non-Zargonians; ingestion causes a psychostimulant hallucinogenic reaction that can lead to respiratory failure or cardiac arrest. Zargonian biology is such that they merely experience a reaction similar to that of coffee for humans. However, if Zargonians ingest coffee, they experience the same effects.

Civilization and Culture
Culture and Cultural Heritage
Zargonian culture is deeply intertwined with their swampy homeland, Zargon. It embodies their adaptability and resilience, forged by the unforgiving swamps that have molded their way of life.
Zargonians share a profound connection with the natural world. They hold the marshes, wetlands, and waterways as sacred and vital to their existence. Rituals and ceremonies that honor the swamp spirits are common, guiding their way. Zargonian society revolves around the core concept of community. In close-knit villages deep within the swamps, cooperation and mutual support are not just values but essential for survival. Their devotion to fellow community members is unwavering.
A rich oral tradition is the heartbeat of Zargonian culture. Through spoken word, they pass down history, stories, and wisdom. Elders play a pivotal role in preserving these traditions, ensuring the continuity of their cultural heritage for younger generations. Zargonian culture carries the weight of a somber chapter. Once united under King Zuex's world government, their society's peace was shattered by an alien species' invasion of their beloved homeland, Zargon. Faced with overwhelming challenges, King Zuex chose self-imposed exile, leaving his throne and people behind. This decision has left an enduring mark on Zargonian culture, symbolizing sacrifice and resilience. Today, through their oral traditions, stories of King Zuex's exile and the invasion of Zargon endure. They serve as a testament to their ability to endure hardships and their unwavering connection to their homeland. The Zargonians carry the hope of reclaiming their swamps and restoring their world to its former glory. Among the most cherished aspects of Zargonian culture is their love for tea brewed from the Black Thistle, a plant native to their ancestral homeworld. The preparation and sharing of Black Thistle tea stand as a time-honored tradition, symbolizing unity and hospitality.
