Nexum is a populous and highly industrialized system serving as a crucial node in the Republic's broader economic and logistical networks. The main world, Nexum Prime, is a harsh and densely populated planet struggling with environmental degradation and overindustrialization. Despite its challenges, it remains a vital industrial hub and a cornerstone of interstellar trade and manufacturing.

Star System

Nexum is G-type main-sequence star, providing ample energy but subjecting the planets to occasional solar storms.
Celestial Bodies:
Nexum I: A barren rock scorched by proximity to the sun, covered in mineral-rich deposits. rich in metals but unsuitable for habitation.
Nexum II: A volcanic terrestrial world with active magma flows, its atmosphere thick with sulfur dioxide. Mining colonies operate under extreme conditions.
Nexum III: The main inhabited world, dominated by sprawling cities and industrial complexes.
Nexum IV: A terrestrial world covered in silicate deserts, with evidence of ancient water flows now evaporated. Occasional scientific expeditions are conducted here.
Vashok´s Belt: A dense asteroid belt, a major source of raw materials that are mined and shipped to Nexum Prime.
Nexum V: A gas giant with an array of moons, some of which are home to resource extraction outposts
Nexum VI: A super-Earth with a thick, toxic atmosphere. Industrial outposts exist in its upper atmosphere, extracting exotic gases.

Geography

The landscape is dominated by sprawling megacities interconnected by rail networks and dotted with smokestack-filled industrial zones. Beyond the cities lie barren plains scarred by centuries of resource extraction and toxic waste dumping. Small seas provide the planet’s only natural water sources but are heavily polluted and tightly regulated.

Society & Culture

The government is a rigid impersonal bureaucracy, managing everything from rationed air and water to housing allocations and employment assignments. Life on Nexum is defined by the constant hum of industry, with citizens enduring long work hours to maintain the planet's industrial output. Despite its harsh environment, Nexum has a vibrant subculture born of necessity and ingenuity. Art and music often reflect themes of resilience and defiance, and black-market ingenuity is widespread.

Economy
