Arcturus Ad Astrum

The Human King of Andromeda

Arcturus Ad Astrum is the current King of Andromeda, also known as the Royal Sovereign. However, prior to his marriage to the Queen, his name was simply Arcturus Tanaka. Arcturus is self-trained in both martial arts and magical prowess, but this doesn't mean his abilities are weaker than those who were professionally trained. Arcturus began his martial and magical training at a young age while on his family's rice farm. He would enter tournaments whenever he could to test his mettle and learn his weaknesses. After a string of defeats, he finally began rising through the ranks until he had many championships under his belt. His family was proud of his accomplishments and encouraged him to become a samurai. He traveled to many kingdoms and was met with closed doors, until one day a tournament for the Royal Sovereign Queen's samurai position was announced. He went to Solis with all haste.   Arcturus is best described as compassionate by all those who meet him, but his wife would describe him as romantic. During the introductions for the tournament, Arcturus looked upon the Queen for the first time and when asked for his name remained silent. The Queen questioned him on his silence, to which he responded, "apologies my Queen, but the spell you have cast upon me leaves me stunned. You truly are a masterful magician." The Queen assured him that she cast no such spell, to which he cheekily replied, "to cast such bewitching spells without meaning to is further testament to your greatness. I pledge to you on this day and every other that I am yours to command." His flirtation was met with murmurs from the crowd, but the Queen softly smiled. After the tournament, the two engaged in a passionate courtship a year before he asked for the Queen's hand in marriage.   Arcturus had two children with Queen Callista before her passing: Arkos and Ursa. In an attempt to save his son from an early reign he believed Arkos was not yet prepared for, he took the throne as the King Royal Sovereign. His ascension as been met with mixed feelings and has revealed hidden tensions between the Hume species. Regardless, Arcturus does this to protect his grieving son and insists that giving him time to process his mother's passing is more important than ruling a kingdom.
