Gate Travel

Gate Travel is a little understood science developed by retro-fitting technology from alien vessels dragged in by the Xenophage. It solves the issue of faster than light travel by allowing point to point teleportation through folding space via higher dimensions. However it is costly and requires massive gates to be constructed from point to point and constrains traffic to said gate. This is a necessity to outer system travel and it is not surprising that this technology is used exclusively by the Celestial Connection and its secrets are jealously horded.
