Ceres
Ceres is a dwarf planet in the asteroid belt between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. It was the first asteroid discovered, on 1 January 1801, by Giuseppe Piazzi at Palermo Astronomical Observatory in Sicily and announced as a new planet. Ceres was later classified as an asteroid and then a dwarf planet – the only one always inside Neptune's orbit.
The dwarf planet is a military control zone owned by the Martian Defense Front and has minimal local government. Instead its run by Vice Admiral Oskar Ruental acting as military governor for the Admiralty Board. The body itself is a industrial world marked by consistent weapons platform and ship re-outfitting stations. It was previously a salt mining, trade, and industrial hub, of which it remains as such, but in a lessor capacity.
Though controlled by the MDF the population of Ceres station ranges between Spaceborn(ethnicity:5c948ccc-2481-4ce8-86db-0ed4a9dbca8a), [Martians, and many of the subgroups of the @[Celestial Connection whom use to control the body.

Geography
Ceres is a carbonate body, mostly hard carbon rock, organic material, and salt. It's surface is covered in craters that often are retrofitted into space ports for repairs and retrofitting ships. While primarily an industrial and defensive body, there is enough salt below the core to lead to an adept salt mining industry.
- Surface area 2,770,000 km2
- Volume 434,000,000 km3
- Mass (9.3835±0.0001)×1020 kg
- Mean density 2.162±0.008 g/cm3
- Equatorial surface gravity 0.28 m/s2 0.029 g
History
Ceres was always a pit stop location between the inner and outer worlds. During the golden age of the UES it was a prime spot to act as an industrial hub for mining operations throughout the belt, as well as a refit and resupply center for ships making their way towards the outer system. Population bloomed, but it was never considered a luxurious local.
When The First Wave struck the system Ceres was not directly effected, but the collapse of inter system trade rendered it a economically destitute world. However explorers and traders from the CC would restore the Dwarf Planets hopes. Its industrial capabilities and size made it an ideal candidate for a Gate to be constructed in orbit and which would bring incredible wealth to the body.
This plan died with the Belt War as the MDF and CC came to blows over who would dominate the asteroid belt. The MDF assaulted Ceres killing many and destroying the unfinished gate. The dwarf planet was then outfitted with an immense number of tactical emplacements and military structures were placed all over the crated surface. However space lacks permanent hard points, and while the war continued, Ceres was never the battlefield all expected it to be.
Since coming under MDF control the planet as remained a mostly military-industrial world. The center piece of force projection through the MDF's portion of the belt. Though traders and salt miners still come, most on the dwarf planet today build missiles and battleships, not trade goods and transport vessels.
