The Vesk Imperium and the Systems Alliance sign a mutual defense pact.

When the Systems Alliance first encountered the Vesk Imperium , war seemed inevitable; The Vesk Imperium was a highly militarized empire, colonizing rapidly and expanding aggressively. Armies were levied and fleets were scuttled, each side preparing for a conflict. Fortunately, in what came to be a defining moment for the Systems Alliance and the Vesk Imperium both, neither side ever fired a shot. While the Vesk Imperium had seemed to be a violent aggressor on a stellar scale, in truth the Vesk Imperium leadership was mostly worried about a lack of order in the stars and was trying to secure itself against possible invaders. Choosing to avoid confrontation, the Vesk Imperium signed a defensive pact. Rather than starting a war, the Vesk Imperium became a staunch ally of the Systems Alliance.
