The Systems Alliance is a loosely organized alliance, formed originally as a military alliance, but which later developed into a political and economic union as well, trading resources, sharing a currency and forming a united foreign policy.
The Systems Alliance Fleet itself is relatively small, having less than 10% of the capital ships the Gor Dominion possesses, but relies on individual member states to provide military when Defensive Protocols are enacted.
The Systems Alliance has had three major military conflicts (As well as innumerable smaller ones The Gor Dominion War, The First Contact Uprisings and the Black Scourge Conflict. Each one ultimately resulted in the Systems Alliance prevailing, making it one of the most prominent forces in the known galaxy.
The Commission is the highest authority within the Systems Alliance and consists of 555 commissioners. Each member state of the Systems Alliance gets a number of seats in the Commission dependent on their population, but a minimum of 1 and a maximum of ten. How each individual member state selects their commissioners is up to themselves, but the Systems Alliance encourages some degree of direct election amongst citizens.
The Commission is headed by the Chairman of the Commission, currently Tikk 27-02, but the Chairman has relatively little hard power beyond the ability to call emergency sessions of the Commission.
