Sa’reed Masar

Admiral, Systems Alliance Fleet Sa’reed Delani

Summary: Born amongst the stars, Sa’reed is the current head of the powerful Masar family, a political, business and military heritage with roots stretching back to the birth of the Systems Alliance. Sa’reed started his career after finishing at the Fleet Academy by becoming a lieutenant aboard one of the smaller cruisers of the Systems Alliance fleet. When the Black Scourge Conflict bloomed, Sa’reed’s captain was killed and Sa’reed made what the courts deemed a “Necessary and lawful relief of duty” of the XO in the midst of the battle. As the larger ships fell, Sa’reed organised the remaining cruisers and destroyers, making a tactical retreat with the Drift drives. When the Black Scourge arrived weeks later, Sa’reed had effectively formed a firing line in the system, bombarding the Black Scourge as soon as it entered into the system, winning the battle despite having no capital ships. While he gave up one system, he stemmed the tide and became known as being as ruthless as he is ingenious, his tactics of falling back and creating firing lines becoming standard tactic in the Systems Alliance militaries when fighting the Black Scourge. Politically, however, he was far less skilled and as more and more failed political projects built up, Systems Alliance command saw it necessary to isolate him, sending him and his flagship, Father Culling, to the border of Systems Alliance space, for him to spend his old age without embarrassing himself too much.
