The Shimmerfall Cannon is a rapid-fire kinetic weapon that disperses specialised rounds designed to interfere with shield emitter dynamics. Upon impact, the rounds break apart into fine reactive particles that cling to shield emitter points. These particles disrupt the ship’s sensory field shaping, reducing a target’s Sense attribute during the critical Deceleration Phase of future rounds.
This cannon sacrifices raw lethality for the ability to suppress, blind, and manipulate enemy positioning. Its effect is most potent when setting up team-based follow-ups or denying evasive enemies their edge.
 

Rules & Limitations:

  • Range: 128 Yards without penalty. -1 penalty to hit up to 256 yards. 1 Gobble Die for every 128 interval past 256 yards.
  • Spray 3: If the attacker is not performing a multi-action, they gain 3 bonus dice, and may keep multiple sets to strike the same or nearby targets.
  • Emitter Dispersal Rounds: On a successful hit (even if no damage is dealt), the target suffers a Sense penalty equal to the Width of the best hit during the Deceleration Phase for that many rounds. Minimum Sense is 1.
  • Full Power Only: Must be fired at maximum Width.
  • Depleted: Requires ammunition tracking (100 uses before reload).
  • Obvious: Loud, bright, and impossible to conceal.
  • Requires External Power Source: Must be connected to ship power.
  • Operational Skill: Requires Weapon (Gunnery) or equivalent.
  • Focus: Must be installed. Not innate.
  • Bulky: -2 dice if not mounted.
