Caerwyn

Perched on the rugged shores of Lake Solara, Caerwyn stands as the largest and most formidable city within the Freeholds. Its towering stone walls rise directly from the rocky lakeside. The city’s battlements overlook the shimmering waters of the lake, its harbors guarded by fleets of swift longships that patrol the mist-shrouded coves. The Shattering lingers in the memories of all in Caerwyn, and the citizens are constantly on alert for the Empire's spies.

Caerwyn is known not just for its size but for its near-impenetrable defenses—its walls thick and high, reinforced by ancient runes carved into every stone, rumored to be blessed by the last remnants of old magic outside the Church’s reach. Inside, the city hums with the determined spirit of horse clans and seasoned warriors, united under a council that holds fast to the Freeholds’ independence.

The wind constantly sweeps across the city’s ramparts, carrying the scent of pine and saltwater, a reminder that Caerwyn is a bastion of freedom standing defiantly against encroaching empires. Its great beacon tower houses a massive looking glass that can see across the entire lake. Watchmen stand ready day and night to observe the Empire's shore, ready to warn the city of any possible incursions.
