Tool - Combat Checks

Combat Checks are a free actions that Players can take once per turn. These checks use your proficiency bonus to reveal information about enemies and surroundings. These checks are specific to each enemy and must meet a DC, but checks can be pooled with other players to meet this DC.
Information revealed about enemies falls under four different categories.

  1. Creature Traits
  2. Creature Actions/Reactions
  3. Creature Tactics
  4. Creature Conditions

Succeeding a combat check against an enemy opens up a single category. Each category may have one or more attacks or features that must be revealed with subsequent combat checks. The DC for different categories and subtopics may vary slightly.   While combat checks have potential to break immersion and have meta-game potential, these checks represent character's abilities to observe, learn, and exploit weakness of their enemies.

These checks are a simple [1d20] roll plus your character's proficiency bonus.
