Nagi Species in Stars of Destiny | World Anvil

Nagi

Basic Information

Anatomy

Nagi have upper bodies that resemble humans but serpentine lower bodies.

Genetics and Reproduction

Nagi are egg layers. A single female can produce a clutch of at least five eggs at a time. Most of these eggs will hatch, but there are times when only one or two will.

Growth Rate & Stages

Nagi children develop quickly, attaining their full growth within five years. It takes them until they are 15 years old to reach the accepted mental maturity. They are capable of reproducing at age 10 but it's highly frowned on for anyone under the age of 20 to do so.

Ecology and Habitats

The nagi inhabit the planet Zarass'ahan in orbit around the sun Rasalhague. The three subspecies each have environments that they prefer.   The hafalri are acclimatized to a more temperate environment and are found in the valleys and forests. These are the most numerous of the three. The sifelja prefer to live in the desert regions. It's difficult to get an accurate count of these nagi as few want to venture into the desert and the sifelja dislike communicating with the other two. The makalja like the marsh regions. They are the least numerous of the three.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Only the sehashi among the nagi have the ability to take on a two legged form although a shorter version of the tail remains. It's seen a sign of great power when they manage to do it. It's understandably exhausting to maintain that form. Should they be rendered unconscious, they automatically revert to their natural form.
