Elf
Elves are a species that came to Starhome more than 1000 years ago from outer space. Their colony ships landed on the continent of Astra and elves started to establish a colony. About 2 years after arrival all contact with the elven homeworld and other colonies was lost. Elves on Starhome were alone and surrounded by native humans. To stay safe elves quickly decided to isolated themselves in settlements and avoid contacts with humans. It is that isolation that allowed humans to prosper and develop on their own with minimal outside influence.
Appearance
Elves are more slender and slightly taller than humans. Their most distintive features are slightly pointy ears and white hair.
Enclaves
Most elves live in isolated settlements known as enclaves. Most of the enclaves are self-sufficient and have minimal contact with the outside world. When they have contact it is, most of the time, with other elven enclaves. Contact with humans is rare.
Council of Enclaves
When things regarding all of the elves have to be discussed, leaders of the enclaves call for a council. It can happen in one of two forms: remotely through the long-range communication system or at a special site known as the Colonial Chamber. It is a place that after the landing of the colony ships was being prepared to house the colony's government.
I like that your Elves come from the stars. It has to be difficult to lose contact with the other Elves from off-world. The idea that they are secluded after arriving on a populated planet makes sense to a point. I wonder what their few interactions with humans have been like.
