The Circle’s Tome

The Circle's Tome is an old document about the The Nisurach Circle. It lists the true names, demonic sigils, and placing of all the demons in the circle, as well as other information about them.

Purpose

The document was written as a way to keep track of all known information about each of the demons, and to aid members of the Order in summonings and other rituals.

Historical Details

History

The document was created by older renditions of the Order of the Nisurach Circle. When the Church of the Lightbearer began attacking anything to do with demons, even within their own documents, members of the Order feared the loss of the names of the demons, and began writing them down. Many of these articles were found and burned, their authors executed. Eventually, as older members were captured and killed, only a few members knew the true names of the demons. They began recording the names, this time in only a few copies, as well as any other information they knew about the demons. The purpose this time was not to distribute the documents, instead keeping them safe and secret for only the higher members, and spreading the names through word of mouth.
Near the end of the The War on Darkness, all copies of the Circle's Tome were found and destroyed except one, which was entrusted by the Grand Priest of the Order to an unknown member.

Legacy

The book has left a hidden impact on the city. Many symbols and demonic seals from the book can be found hidden in alleyways across Starfell, carved in the walls by members of the previous Order.
