Who's the New Guy?
The party found themselves in a torrential thunderstorm in the woods. This was not only perilous because they were surrounded by trees but also because one member of the group was made almost entirely of metal.
Luckily, the People’s Courier Service happened on a large marquee-style tent. This tent was owned by Edwin Zune, who appeared to be some sort of lone huntsman/survivalist.
Mr. Zune granted them shelter for the night and informed the group that he was looking for his wife and children who had disappeared just over a week ago. The group also clocked a green and yellow longbow in the corner of the tent which Mr Zune seemed reluctant to discuss. During the long rest the gang were visited by tiny clowns wielding pin needles. The clowns seemed to be originating from the mark etched on the back of STU13’s neck. The group killed the clowns and Nemo cast Mending to close the etched marks.
The storm clears and next morning the group heads out. The party come across human remains in the middle of the road. Aria turns into a black bear and begins to follow a trail of scent, leading up to a camp, finding a mortally wounded man slumped over a chest, STU heals him, and then the party begins to ask him questions. The man, Stine, tells the party the wolves were corrupted and deathly with bones sticking out of their skin. He informed the group to “Take the valley between the largest and smaller mountain to pass through the winged mountains safely”.
Stine offered the PCS a lock box, although is vague about how he acquired it. Nemo opens the box, revealing a yellow opal, the stones begin to gravitate towards the white opal Aria holds. A note in the box reads “Degaul Mantel, college of the ivied shrines, begins pilgrimage soon, high ransom.” Stine tells us he was to deliver the box to the Mugmare Urbs, although wouldn’t reveal the name of his contact.
Over the next two days, the PCS arrives at the outskirts of Magmare Urbs. The party begins to look for Hadvar. Many of the gang sees the sea for the first time ever and are awestruck. The group visits the Dreamy Curtain Theatre, talking his way in, Nemo meets Mr Chalk, the eccentric owner of the establishment and tries to get a spot on the stage that evening. After a successful trial performance, he secures an opening spot for Brock the Highwayman.
The gang then eventually meet with their contact Hadvar. He is unpleasant. However, he does deliver the information requested and informs the group that Hartfell is in the book shop Leather and Leeves.
The party visits Hartfell with the Jentraskaar family weapons to demonstrate that they are interested in working for her. Hartfell informs the group that she knows they are working for Eddie the Sage (which is what the group want her to think remember however they are REALLY working for the Straight Arrow Investigation Agency). She says that she uses the name Jentreskarr as a trophy, not as a salutation.
She informs the group of a dagger that is meaningful to her, it is in ruins a few miles along the coast. She says that supposedly one of the first lifeforms to exist on Starbournem lays rest there. Back when the planet was simply crystals before it was terraformed. The PCS need to go and get the dagger. The dagger was lost a couple years ago. It is a black dagger with red edges and the group would find it attached to a shoe which should have her foot (which she lost in that tomb on a trap) still in it. If the party are able to secure this dagger then Hartfell will be open to working with them.
As the group left for the tomb Mr Zune was confronted mentally by Uncle Pally Wal who welcomed him to the group and informed him that as long as members of the party’s brains still worked then he would always be able to communicate with them.
