Session 9 - Pincer Attack

General Summary

16th The Melting, 2063 EC  
  • The party made their way towards Crimiss.
  • Around the ruin, they found a number of dead creatures, similar in size to goblins.
  • As Faephine entered the ruin, the steps to the lower passage opened - due to the proximity of the Keystone that she carried.
  • Inside Crimiss, before descending to the lower levels, the party found an injured Panther that had apparently been injured fighting the creatures.
  • Faephine healed the Panther and asked if it would like to join her, which it did.
  • The Panther was named Pam.
  • The party descended to the depths of Crimiss.
  • A shadow in the walls followed the party through a long passage.
  • The path forked and the doors forward alternated between opening and closing. This forced the party to split up.
  • Faephine doubled back to release the horses which had been tied to trees near the entrance to the ruin.
  • On her way back through the long passage, Faephine was attacked by the shadow, which tried to pull her in to the wall.
  • Wildervan intervened, freeing Faephine with a crossbow bolt.
  • Parmenion, Delrora and Wildervan took the route marked 'The Awakening'.
  • Parmenion fell through a trap door to the floor below, landed in acid and did a 'Dante's Peak'.
  • He then fought acidic oozes and found a strange weapon.
  • Parmenion's sword was corroded by acid.
  • Wildervan and Delrora navigated elemental runes to cross a large chamber, before disarming arcane system controlling the runes and trap doors.
  • Toth, Damicus and Faephine took the route marked 'The Blink'.
  • In total darkness, the three navigated twisting corridors and fought a number of large spiders.
  • Pam was re-named Pan.
  • Faephine and Damicus inspected a completely normal table.
  • Toth ran off in to the complete darkness and stumbled in to some kind of pinching, stinging insect.
