MAIN SAGA OVERVIEW

THE STORY SO FAR

· You have all found yourselves in Sylvasker, a heavily forested Druidic nation in the Freehold Confederacy.

· In the town of Admontem Pass the group witness, along with many other residents, witnessed the murder of business tycoon Osrich Mantle by a black Tiefling.

· During an excursion to the Halls of the Dead the party attracted the ire of Uncle Pally Wal, an entity who is the embodiment of hatred – he took the appearance of a tatty, yellow teddy bear with a bird skull sticking out of his face and antlers.

· Uncle Pally Wal warned the group not to mention him to anyone and to be rid of him all the group needed to do was kill Horizon, the black Tiefling who had killed Osrich Mantle.

· The party proceeded to mention Uncle Pally Wal fairly often to individuals as they travelled.

· The group assisted Jonah Ranger of the Straight Arrow Investigation Agency in the murder investigation. However, knowledge of Uncle Pally Wal would later slowly infiltrate and corrupt his mind, along with several other individuals the group had directly or indirectly told about Pally Wal’s existence.

· While travelling the group came across three different opals, yellow white and green.

· The group also encountered Horizon on several occasions. Through conversations with Horizon they discovered that he managed to escape the Play Pen (the dwelling in which Uncle Pally Wal and other associated entities live) but his mind had been corrupted and he was now under the control of the Screaming Moon. A extraterrestrial primordial who preyed on the insane. He claimed the moon told him who to kill, because of Thralisk’s interaction with him Horizon then marked Thralisk as his next victim but could not kill him.

· The group discovered the origins of Uncle Pally Wal in an ancient cave. He along with his two companion entities Shephard and Mr Bang Bang were malevolent spirits born from the deployment of a terrible magical weapon which destroyed the northern hemisphere of the planet in its early days. Shepherd, Bang Bang and Pally Wal represent the concepts of fear, anger and hate respectively. They manifest in the northern hemisphere of Starbournem in the vicinity of an act of great evil.

· The particular act of evil in Sylvasker was the murder of Petvolar Half Blood, the first High King of the Enclave of the North from the Freeholds (who actually lived in Sylvasker) at the hands of Leigara Nell, the originator of the Straight Arrow Detective Agency. The murder was politically motivated and served a number of purposes but for the Mantle family it allowed their business interests to expand into the Orleath Empire and the Given Lands which were fiercely protected by Petvolar. The mantle family’s access to this region allowed them to procure slave labour quickly and discreetly from the kenku community, however five years ago the slave labour was about to be discovered so Osrich Mantle at the behest of his Father Barnabus Mantle locked the slaves in his toy factory and set fire to it, killing all of them. This was revealed in conversations with ghostly apparitions who inhabit the play pen due to their connection to this incident.

· The group fought Horizon twice and on the second occasion killed him. Upon his death Neb who struck the final blow was drawn to the black opal that Horizon vomited up, this would have made her a thrall of Shephard it is believed, however the party managed to conceal the opal in the bag of holding which was enough for Neb to break the hold Pally Wal had over her.

· However later on various individuals who had no succumbed to Pally Wal’s manipulation including Torzana Springaze the Head of the ruling Druidic Order confronted the group and forced them to relinquish all the opals. Torzana Springaze then took the opals to the Speckled Sea which opened the third and final Sylvasken portal to the Feywild which allowed gigantic avatars of Pally Wal, Shepherd and Mr Bang Bang to invade the land. And invoke a state known as “Mothligra” a consistent atmosphere of panic, chaos and negativity which drives people mad.

· The group escaped these entities via Gordon Greaves’ flying tower (Greaves was visiting to discuss the impending threat of these entities at the behest of wizard Branqo and Phermia who the party had become acquainted with.

· Gordon researched the entities using the tower’s extensive library and concluded that the origins of the entities as depicted in the cave were correct but those lands had since been terraformed over by the gods, the answer to destroying them indefinitely probably lies underground. He contacted a friend known as Tankard who had access to advanced technology that may be able to tunnel deep enough.

· Greaves also stated that there were three dominant races at the time the weapon was deployed, The elves who triggered the weapon and retreated to the feywild, the Starkin the lifeforms who grew from the Far Realm energy and a third race of which not much is known but they are thought to be connected to the Forgotten Crystals.

· The party escaped to the southern part of Sylvasker where they sought the aid of the Circle of Decay (Aria’s former druidic circle led by her father) and We Are The Water. However, these factions had been warring for a long time and a summit between the two actually ended in the murder of Aria’s father. Distraught Aria left the group briefly to fight against We Are The Water.

· The battle between the two factions would become The Casmith Massacre – a battle that would essentially wipe out both factions apart. Aria however survived and gained the favour of an Ancient Black Dragon. However, another result of the battle is the hypnotising mass of undead which dwells in the estuary would now be unchecked resulting in the lands shortly becoming overrun with undead creatures for some time in the future. This would be rectified eventually by the neighbouring state of Lathander’s Dawn. (ARIA DOES NOT KNOW THIS)

· The group travelled to Planisium, specifically the town of Fancy Land.

· The encountered Consentrum troops who were stationed in the region to try to contain the three massive entities.

· Neb had spent some time in Fancy Land before travelling further north and reconnected with her revolutionary Unitist activist group – the Old Agents.

· It was revealed that the leader of this group had also fallen under the influence of Pally Wal and was the one who had granted him access to the Feywild Portal in Planisium.

· The group fought an apparition of Shepherd here and managed to defeat it.

· However, the gigantic Pally Wal then entered Planisium through the Feywild portal.

· The group once again, escaped to the city of Susetra where Tankard and the Rejuvan Elite Guard had arrived.

· The group spooke to Tankard and agreed to allow them to use Big Bartholemew to tunnel underground.

· That night the spirit of Horizon managed to manifest in the material plane via the bow of Mr Zunn.
