Ghost of Sol Slumber Past
A T-Rex enters the clearing and as the moon illuminates it, the party could see that it was a familiar tone of green and yellow and its skin looks almost felt-like much like the dragon the party encountered in the playpen.
The party, hidden by Aria’s Pass Without a Trace, heard a voice calling “Mr. Fluffykins” and encountered a small humanoid figure named Little Miss Friendly (LMF), who appears to be from the Playpen. LMF informs them that it has been 5 years since the act of evil which manifested the Playpen occurred. They also mentioned, due to their connection to the Playpen, if a member of the party dies, their soul will go there, though they believe STU may be an exception. They claim that the cold will harm the group and offers sanctuary in a cabin. The group reluctanlty agrees to accompany them. On the journey LMF provides the party with more information about the Playpen. They inform the group that Horizon is the first of Shepherd’s thralls. The three key entities: Shepard (Fear), Bang Bang (Anger), and Pally Wal (Hate) manifest themselves in areas where a great evil has occurred and they gain power the more people become aware of them.
In the cabin, LMF demonstrates that they have the power to control time inside by speeding up the process of cooking a meal. . LMF then guides Aria, Nemo, and Interloper to a spirit world where they can ask five questions.
Aria’s Spirit Encounter: In a toy workshop, Aria speaks with a half-elven woman who reveals that the Playpen grew out of an atrocity committed in the Mantel toy factory. She recounts how she assasinated former Grand Councillor of the Enclave of the North at the time, Reired Ptvolar “Halfblood” at the behest of the Mantel family which allowed them to enter the Given Lands - using resident Kenkus as slaves in their factory. In exchange her detective agency the Straight Arrow Investigation Agency was made the exclusive agency for the Enclave by Patvolar’s predecessor Gorwin Liamoira. She revealed that 5 years ago the Mantel family burned the factory down with the slaves still in there to avoid the authorities raiding the place.
Nemo’s Spirit Encounter: Nemo meets Osrick Mantel, who explains that he made the decision to burn the factory to "clean up" his family's mess and hints at the Playpen’s power. Osrick advises the party to destroy Pally Wal but doesn’t have many helpful methods of doing so.
Thrallisk’s Spirit Encounter: Thrallisk speaks to a severly burned Kenku who shares that the person who kills Horizon. would replace them in the Playpen. They also reveals, that at this stage, destroying the sources of fear and anger won't end the Playpen’s power, as it feeds on itself and fuels the insanity which sustains the Screaming Moon at the centre of the cosmos. It is this moon that commands Horizon to kill. The Kenku also writes the word “THOMLIGRA” which is a term unfamiliar to the group.
After the visions cease, LMF is gone and a gift remains, Aria opens it revealing a "Whistle of Turkey Summoning," which grants a daily supply of turkey.
After a night’s sleep, the party proceeds toward the Ivied Shrines and, while traveling, decides to stealthily steal Pterodactyl eggs for Roodey and manage to obtain 6.
The party encounters a trap set by doppelgangers who when caught and threatened reveal that they are trying kidnap Nemo, referred to as Zeek, to return him to the Feywild as he is the Prince of a Changeling nation there. Nemo learns he was once married to a goddess, who is revealed to be Faith. When it was discovered that Zeek and Faith had married, Faith was banished from Elysium to Limbo. In an attempt to get her back Zeek made a deal with a hag, however his clumsy wording of was naturally twisted by the hag and instead, he found himself in the Material Realm with no memories but being haunted by a catchy song he apparently wrote. His curse prevents him from entering the Feywild or taking the changeling throne.
Neb and Faith reveal more about their relationship. Faith ended up within Neb’s mind after being banished to Limbo. She chose Neb as a host because, like her, Neb had a deep hatred for Lathander and their followers. Faith’s influence led Neb on their journey to Sylvasker. Faith also reveals that everyone in the Feywild knows the "Coinpurse Boogie", hinting that the song has widespread significance in that realm. Nemo, however, can’t recall the specifics of the deal he made with the Hag that cursed him.
As the party tries to unravel the mystery, Thrallisk casts Detect Thoughts on Nemo in hopes of uncovering more about the Hag. Thrallisk sees a vision of the Feywild, specifically a dank wilderness with a grinning moon, which is likely a representation of the eerie and twisted nature of the Feywild. He sees three familiar structures, which appear to be tombs of the dead in Sylvasker, located near the Protected Wilds. These tombs mirror the Hall of the Dead from the Material Plane, suggesting a connection between the two realms. Thrallisk also sees a door in the vision, and as he approaches it, a hag jumps out, seemingly reacting to his intrusion. Thrallisk quickly withdraws from Nemo’s mind, cutting off the vision before he can learn more.
