Gespara Family
An aristocratic Gesparan family. The namesake of the continent of Gespara.
The Gespara Family began to gain wealth and influence in the largely human continent but, at the time, Elven-controlled continent of Altherus Qirel in the late 1500s. Based in the Northern part of the continent they would eventually emrge as the most powerful of the five aristocratic human families in Altherus Qirel. The union of Yarnis Gespara with Tierna Ubenta would set in motion the development of a network of wealthy human families who were able to accrue wealth, power and influence completely separately from the Orleath regime. This network consisted of: The Gespara Family, The Ubenta Family, The Valenshot Family, The Rechkit Family and The Jentraskaar Family. Other less influential families and individuals were also associated notably The Nell Family.
Shortly after the establishment of this network, came growing calls to rebel against the Orleath Empire who unfairly benefitted from these families by levying high taxes against them. This lead to the revolutionary war which would later be dubbed the Gesparan-Orleath War.
The Human Forces were lead by Gedrick Gespara and consisted of 4 of the 5 main families in the network - The Jentraskaar Family, infamously, refused to help aid the revolution, with numerous accusations of them secretly aiding the Orleath Empire.
The Human Forces ultimately won their freedom in the most bloody war in recorded history. However, the Gespara Family were completely wiped out in the conflict with the only uncomfirmed death being that of the child Queena Gespara, who was deemed missing but now presumed dead.
As a tribute to the family the other families named the new continent after The Gespara Family.
