Copy of Dheenis' Notes
Notes retrieved from the wizard, who was later identified as Dheenis of Voswiadul.
Copied by scribe Zibud Bannen of Arken Academy, North Gespara, 2063 EC.
A:
The Fire Crystal. Possibly related, similar material.
B:
Three pedestals. Only one door. Unable to open.
C, General Observations:
All of these locations seem to have a similar layout. One long passage, two minor hazards, the statue room and the Gate room. The statues are interesting, although I do not trust them. They too, appear to be made from Lapothox.
C1:
Easy to access. Shadow in the walls. Left C2, right C4. Frustrating and time consuming to have to return here to retrieve a Keystone after entering a Gate.
C2:
Unable to explore, authorities intervened.
C4:
Somewhere in Ashscrub Grove, unable to re-enter location to explore with the Keystone.
C3:
The servant, broken statue. Another shadow, closer this time. Left C7, right C2.
C6:
Do not linger on the bridge. Do not look over the edge. Right C3, left C11.
C7:
Dangerous. Shadow stalking me. Right C1. Will need to hire mercenaries to return here to retrieve the Keystone. Will not leave Keystone here again, do not want to return a third time.
C5:
Flooded, cannot access.
C12:
The shadow was waiting for me outside the ruin. Did not enter.
Other sites too dangerous to access on foot.
D:
Far too dangerous to travel to. Could be useful information here.
E:
Probably unrelated, but it is an impressive display of raw magical power.
Next experiment:
Remove the Keystone from the altar remotely, while standing on the bridge. If successful I'll be able to travel without leaving the Keystone behind.
Scribe note: Attempting this last experiment is not recommended, as our leading theory is that this action directly lead to Dheenis' death.
